ASCA

Eastern Grounds Landscaping is proud to call itself a member of the Accredited Snow Contractors Association (ASCA). ASCA is a dynamic group dedicated to changing the industry of snow and ice management by focusing on and creating "an education standard and legislative reform" for snow and ice management contractors. ( www.ascaonline.org) How are they doing this? By teaming up with the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (ANAB), the ASCA has been able to create a quality management system crafted specifically for, and exclusive to, snow and ice management contractors. This quality management system is known as SN 9001, which works in conjunction with ISO 9001, the international standard adopted by more than one million companies worldwide. ( www.ascaonline.org/ISO9001-SN9001.aspx) In addition to the development of SN 9001, the ASCA has developed an education based certification process based on risk management for snow and ice management professionals, ASCA-C.

ASCA-C

We are pleased to be able to claim that a number of our individuals are ASCA Certified (ASCA-C). What this means is we have completed 10+ hours of ASCA-sanctioned education focusing on risk management for snow and ice removal contractors. Through this certification process we have obtained valuable information and insights, enabling us to serve you better.

CSP

Our owner Bill Schultz is recognized by the Snow & Ice Management Association (SIMA) as a Certified Snow Professional. This certification is given to those with a high level of experience and knowledge in the snow and ice management industry who demonstrate leadership and provide excellent service to their customers.

ISO 9001/SN 9001 (Pending Certification)

Currently, there is only a handful of snow and ice management companies that have obtained SN 9001 certification, and we plan on becoming one of them!

SN 9001 is a set of industry standards established by the ASCA that works in conjunction with the already existing ISO 9001 standards. By working with the ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (ANAB) the ASCA was able to develop a customized certification for our industry. This certification focuses on the snow and ice management company's processes and procedures and will, according to Smither's Quality Assessments (SQA - the first registrar approved by ANAB to supply certification the the SN 9001 standard), "result in potentials reduced insurance premiums, reduced waste involved with slip-and-fall litigation, increased end-user safety and satisfaction, enhanced supplier-customer satisfaction," and "more efficient use of labor."
